Big Eagle in My Backyard!
Remember that album and song by the Dead Milkman, put out in the mid-80s, called "Big Lizard in My Backyard"? Well, maybe not....but anyway, the song always pops in my mind now, except I replace "lizard" with "eagle". The eagles have suddenly arrived in bulk, and we have one regular baldy in our backyard. He sits out there, on and off all day, looking out at the river. Sometimes he will fly down and catch something from the river for lunch. And sometimes, like in the photo below, he has another eagle visitor:
Here he is, looking over his domain. It is hard to comprehend how big the eagle is until a "regular" sized bird flies by. This eagle is easily twice the size of a seagull. When he lands or takes off from the tree, the branch sways back and forth from his weight.

And another shot with his visitor. Sometimes they fight over the perfect spot on the tree.
